Carly and her husband have always been a lover of NYC, they visit at least once a year. They spent Christmas Eve at The Poni Room, where they enjoyed a traditional “feast of seven fishes”.
The Feast of Seven Fishes is an Italian-American Christmas Eve celebration that features many types of fish and seafood. Traditional Seven Fishes dinner includes anchovies, sardines, salted cod, smelts, eels, squid, octopus, shrimp, mussels and clams. It has Roman Catholic origins as seven is a holy number and this meal follows tradition by abstaining from eating meat on Christmas Eve.
The Poni Room is also a Rose centered restaurant where they host many wine and rose parties and events. For example, every month they have The Rose Series. A seminar featuring some of the regions best Rose makers, that teaches wine lovers about drinking different varieties and the perfect pairings. Did we mention this takes place in their subterranean drinking den??
